Bryony ~ Clay & Burn
Bryony knew exactly what she didn’t want.
She didn’t want copy that read like a chaotic Pinterest board.
She didn’t want blurbs that listed ingredients like a duty-free aisle.
And she absolutely did not want anything described as a “sensual tango” or “passionate flicker.”
Because Clay & Burn?
It’s not your average home fragrance brand.
It’s Jane Austen in a jar.
Romantic, slow, a little nostalgic.
Consciously created. Carefully sourced.
Built by a woman who knows her dream customer. She just didn’t know how to write for them without giving herself the ick.
So she sent me what she had.
Scent notes. Vibe.
The vision: boujie-but-not-rude.
The brief: “Please… just don’t make it cringe.”
You’ve got it, my love.
No calls. No chaos. Just a beautifully filled form and a green light to do my thing.
I wrote three scent blurbs for each candle. Not just to describe what it smells like, but to create a feeling.
A memory. A little scene you can breathe into.
Because “plum and rhubarb”?
Means nothing until you’re standing in a walled garden with fruit-stained fingers and the smell of summer clinging to your sleeves.
And when I sent the final words over?
“Love it! It’s exactly the vibe I was going for…
but something I’d never have been able to write myself.
Made me want to buy it all.”
Job done.
A few tweaks.
A couple of emoji reacts.
And a fresh glow on every product page.
Now? Her scent descriptions romance the customer before the wick’s even lit.
You can explore her dreamy collection over at Clay & Burn.
(And if you’re wondering, The Snuggery is my fave. Just saying.)
